The festival implements several activities to raise awareness of Circus arts for young people and inhabitants of Saint-Étienne.
Guided by an artistic team of the festival and the animators, this day of initiation of the circus arts traditionally closes the festival. Taking place in a park in Saint-Étienne, Jeunesse au Cirque addresses young people attending social centers and can practice Circus arts such as Juggling, Acrobatics, Trampoline, Slackline, Balance, Diabolo, etc. In the afternoon they attend to a Circus show.
For one week, teenagers attend daily circus workshops and are accompanied in their discovery by a professional circus company. At the end of this week, a restitution of the workshops takes place, before the spectacle of the circus company.
Each year, the Festival des 7 Collines hosts a show in a tent, located at Puits Couriot. For the inhabitants of the district of Tarentaize, the artists open their tent and offer various workshops.
Cirque en EHPAD is a new project that aims to raise circus awareness for Loire residents of retirement residence. Residents will assist to the Vadimir Couprie's show : ConnexiO. The juggler and his "wolf-friend" show on stage their complicity, the special connexion that unifie them. The two artists create together, dance, let talk their animality, far away from the "Circus pooch" cliche and his intransigent trainer.
For "Cirqu'au Collège"'s first edition, company Cabas worked all over the year with Collège Marc Seguin's pupils in Montreynaud (Saint-Étienne). As part of artistic and cultural education program, teenagers had the possibility to initiate circus, but also performing arts and scenic writing. This work gave birth to a show presented in the context of the Festival's 27th edition.
